|Old World Charm|
Old and new coming together in this warm, inviting crowd pleaser!
The space shares the beautiful brickwork that is the back of the fireplace in the living room. We incorporated those colors into the finish of the island cabinetry by painting it red, then black, and then adding some distress sanding to bring out that rich red undercoat. The island counter top has some wonderful red veining running throughout. The hammered copper sink and antique style faucets match the old clock mounted on the brick wall. Above the island, a Crawford ceiling with pendant lighting makes this seating area a true Focal Point of the kitchen.
The cabinets feature deep drawers and staggered heights. Beaded inset construction, fluted columns and an arch tow kick beneath the farm sink combine form and function. Pull-out, hidden garbage and recycling receptacles keep things orderly.
A Mantel hood over the commercial range helps to hide the business end, and provides a nice accent to the crowned cabinetry.
Other built in appliances include wine storage, double ovens, and a Miele coffee maker with direct plumbing.
